A marvelous poem with vivid imagery. I arrived here via your study on Sylvia Plath's "Mad Girl's Love Song" and explanation of the villanelle. You've done a lovely job with that form. Initially thought "oh no, he's set himself a difficult task with that 'A'..." in the first line. Then you went on to prove my fears unfounded, with some masterful use of rhyme. Superb. I enjoyed this very much and learned a lot about this form of fixed verse. Thank you!
