In the darkness of the night, where the shadows stalk and creep;

when I am drained of fight and am troubled in my sleep;

if the heart is lacking might, if the soul begins to weep,

then the time could now be right, to plunge the depths so deep.

To see the flame that flickers out and the dragons start to bite;

to know what Life is all about when you’re at the lowest height…

If you see them crouching there, in the corner of the room,

remember — be aware — you’re vulnerable in gloom.

As the stars crash downwards from the sky, leaving holes in the blanket of black,

you feel the world go fleeting by and then stab you in the back.

So deep within my soul I sigh, to think of life so wasted.

I’m sorely pained, I cannot cry for the little Love I’ve tasted.
